A LIVING HISTORY OF THE REGENT PARK REVITALIZATION
Written by Daniels’ President Mitchell Cohen in collaboration with the Regent Park community with script adaptation by Anne-Marie Woods, The Journey Original Soundtrack re-lives the spectacular live performance of The Journey — A Living History of the Regent Park Revitalization, which was performed to four sold-out crowds from June 17-20, 2015. A spirited musical based historical transformation of the Regent Park neighbourhood, The Journey uses a powerful combination of spoken word, dramatic scenes, music and dance to document Regent Park’s nearly 70-year history through the eyes of local residents. Brought to life by the remarkable talents of local and nationally recognized musicians, The Journey showcases award-winning Regent Park spoken word artists Trevlyn Kay and Britta B; R&B singer-songwriter Steve Harmony; Regent Park School of Music graduates Charlotte Siegel and Stacy Darko; and Dixon Hall Music School alumnus and pianist Thompson Egbo-Egbo. Joining these local talents on-stage is the dazzling, award-winning, world-class performer Jackie Richardson, and vocalist, actor and musician Jeremiah Sparks, all under the guidance of Creative Director Anne-Marie Woods and Musical Director Henry Heillig.
Listen to the music and join us on the journey as we celebrate transformation, with each song marking an emotional milestone in the revitalization of Regent Park. The Journey will electrify, captivate and leave you wanting more!
